All of our shipping practices are carbon neutral and plastic-free! We have partnered with Carbon Ethics to offset all of the carbon generated in the shipping of our products, not just to you, but the shipping needed to get those products to us as well.
Shipping is free for orders over $60, and otherwise costs a flat rate of $5 within the US. All our packages are handled by USPS. Orders typically get to you within 2-7 business days.
How do we ship with no waste?
We only use upcycled, recycled, recyclable and compostable materials. These materials include: cardboard boxes, kraft paper envelopes, paper tape, and compostable shipping labels. Often times, we reuse boxes and packing paper shipped to us from the companies we source from. Each shipment is packed carefully with love by our Ethos team.
My package never came, it’s missing. What do I do?
Our packages are shipped and handled by USPS. Once you have received a tracking number through your order confirmation email, please wait at least 14 business days for your package to arrive. If it has been over 14 business days and you believe your package to be lost, please contact us at [email protected].
Why don’t you ship any liquid bulk refills?
All of our liquid refills are only offered locally through store pickup and local delivery in order to reduce shipping emissions and to promote reuse through our jar return program. We would love to find a way to ship our liquid refills, but for now we are unable to until we find a way to do so that fits within our ethos.
Returns & Exchanges
At Ethos Santa Cruz, we believe in ‘conscious consumerism.’ Conscious consumerism means that your buying practices are driven by a commitment to making a positive social, economic, and environmental impact.
We want you to be 100% satisfied with every purchase you make from Ethos, so shop mindfully, slowly and consciously the first time around. We ask that you please reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any comments, questions, or concerns about any item you choose to purchase to help prevent returns and the carbon footprint associated with them.
With that said, if you still find that you have purchased an item you’d no longer want, we do provide returns and exchanges. Find our policies listed below.
Ethos Return Policy
Your item must be returned in undamaged and unused condition within 14 days with a receipt for store credit or a refund. Any return requests after 14 days are for store credit only. All bulk refills are final sale. Products purchased at a discount are final sale.
During the Holidays, anything purchased starting Black Friday (November 26th) are accepted through January 15th.

Return packages must be shipped within 7 days from when you received it.Your refund will be issued to your original payment method once we have received and inspected the returned item(s). If an item is used or damaged, you will not be refunded for it. At this time, shipping costs on returns must be paid for by the sender.
