Menstrual Disc
Product Description:
The Saalt Disc is a reusable menstrual disc made of soft silicone that is worn internally like a tampon but collects—rather than absorbs—your menstrual flow. Naturally odorless, menstrual discs are a healthy and sustainable alternative to pads and tampons.
Because the Saalt Disc has a capacity 4–6 times that of a regular tampon, you can wear it for up to 12 hours before emptying. Yes, that means you may only have to change it twice a day and can sleep with it in. Unlike period cups, the disc does not require suction to stay in place. Rather, it is held in place by its rim in the vaginal fornix (aka the space around the cervix) so you can comfortably hike, swim, and even have sex with your disc inserted.

Disc or Cup?
Which inserted product is right for you will depend on a number of different factors ranging from cervix height to pelvic floor strength to personal preference. Each individual is beautifully unique!
The Saalt Cup sits lower in the vaginal canal than a tampon and uses the air holes near the rim to form a seal between the vaginal wall and the cup.
The Saalt Disc sits in the higher space of the vaginal canal near the cervix called the vaginal fornix. The disc uses its rim to rest in place against the pubic bone rather than forming a seal like a cup

How to clean: There are a few different techniques when it comes to keeping your disc clean, so here are a few of our go-to suggestions!
It is important to sanitize your disc before first use and before or after each period. You can do this by either:
- Boiling your disc for 4-5 minutes (Pro-tip: put your disc in tongs or a whisk to keep it from touching the bottom of the pan)
- Wipe your disc with 70% isopropyl alcohol, allowing the disc to dry completely so the alcohol can evaporate
- Use a compact sanitizer by either microwaving your disc, or pouring boiling water over it.
During your period, you will want to clean your disc at least once every 12 hours. You can do so by rinsing the disc with cold water (to prevent staining) and then washing the disc with hot water or another wash that is mild, pH-balanced, fragrance-free, oil-free, and rinses clean with no residue.
Though silicone can become discolored over time, your Saalt Disc is still good to use. Wiping down your disc with a soft cloth and 70% isopropyl alcohol will remove stain buildup as well.
